The new Lowell National Historical Park quarter, 46th in the series and the first design in 2019, is now in circulation. On Wednesday, February 6, 2019 the official launch ceremony took place at the historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium, built to commemorate veterans in 1922 in downtown Lowell, MA.
Located 25 northwest of Boston, the Lowell National Historical Park site covers 137 acres on the Merrimack River. After the ceremony, a coin exchange was held where attendees were able to get $10 rolls of the new quarters at face value. The new quarter features a female textile worker at a power loom with its prominent circular bobbin battery. A view of Lowell, including the iconic Boott Mill clock tower, is seen through the window.
The 2019 series quarters honors some of American’s most popular parks – American Memorial Park, War in the Pacific National Historical Park, San Antonio Missions and Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. Add the new Lowell quarters to your collection now.
