Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Quarter Design Finalized
In September 2016, the U.S. Mint revealed the final design for the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore quarter. As the second release for 2018, this interesting quarter features a kayaker near the sea caves at Devils Island with a lighthouse in the background. Devils Island is one of the 21 Apostle Islands on western Lake Superior.
Hop on a boat at Bayfield, WI and take a 3-hour cruise that takes you past many of the Apostle Islands and lighthouses found in this national lakeshore park. Bayfield is the gateway to the Apostle Islands and smallest incorporated city in Wisconsin, with a population of about 500.
