The new Harpers Ferry National Historical Park quarter, third issue of 2016 and 33rd in the series, was released on June 8th and will soon enter circulation. The official launch ceremony for the new quarter took place at the Harpers Ferry National Historic Park in Lower Town Historic District of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. With more than 3,700 acres, this park has lands in West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia.
Children received a new, free Harpers Ferry quarter, featuring John Brown’s Fort and adults participated in a coin exchange. The 2016 series quarters honor some of America’s more scenic national parks – Shawnee, Cumberland Gap, Harpers Ferry, Theodore Roosevelt and Fort Moultrie (Fort Sumter).
